FAQs

Traditionally, Type I & Type II cylinders are made from steel and are in use since last 80 years that are heavy, prone to explosions and susceptible to corrosions.

LiteSafe® are Type IV composite LPG cylinders developed from aerospace technology and have unique characteristics including being lightweight, non-explosive, translucent, non-corrosive and environmental friendly. Moreover, LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders have a longer service life when compared to traditional steel LPG cylinders.

LitSafe® composite LPG cylinder is a Type IV cylinder. It consists of a non-metallic gas tight inliner with a fibre glass bound composite layer making it impregnable and blast proof. Outer casing comes in vibrant color combinations and facilitates easier handling.

Yes, LiteSafe® is 100% explosion proof as it consists of a non-metallic gas tight inliner with a fibre glass bound composite layer which can be burned in a fire without any concern for explosion. After a few minutes in engulfing fire, the outer casing starts to melt and the LPG oozes out through the cylinder wall from different locations and reduces the internal pressure and instigates localised burning only.

LiteSafe® Elite LPG cylinders are also Type IV cylinders. It is subsequently encased in an elegant PU (polyurethane) cover. The use of PU jacket ensures it is light weight, rugged during outdoor handling and has a cushioning impact.

LiteSafe® Elite cylinders are elegantly designed and explosion proof.

LiteSafe® Elite LPG cylinders are portable and easy to carry because of its compact design. These are much lesser in weight than metal cylinders. With rugged UV protective external jacket, it provides shock free, impact resistant and long service life. LiteSafe® Elite can easily be fit into any corners due to its ergonomic design. It doesn’t even roll inside the trunk /boot of the moving car. As its stackable, it also reduces operational and logistics cost during transportation.

LiteSafe® Boat and Gas cutting LPG cylinders are manufactured with high performance polymer in combination with helically wound glass fibre and resin to impart better strength and anti-permeable quality such that they are unaffected by salt and humidity. These cylinders are easily portable, stackable and attractively designed for safe use in a boat/yacht. There is no risk of explosion.

LiteSafe® Boat and Gas cutting LPG cylinders are long lasting compared to steel cylinders. The cylinders have been designed, developed and sized keeping in mind vertical placement and the marine safety requirements for yachts, small boats and charters. Corrosion doesn’t occur, lightweight, durable efficiency and are nearly maintenance free are some of the other advantages as well. No need to change the LiteSafe® cylinders frequently unlike steel cylinders.

LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders can be used for Forklift applications as a power source. The light weight makes the cylinder very easy to install on the Forklift and does not corrode at all. These Forklift cylinders are supplied with a wide variety of valve options depending upon customer’s requirement.

LiteSafe® Forklift LPG cylinders are light weight thus reducing the risk of workplace injury. LiteSafe® cylinders are 100% explosion proof and the cylinders robust construction withstands a burst pressure more than the steel cylinders. Due to lower refurbishment costs, LiteSafe® has lower maintenance costs as the cylinders doesn’t rust. Due to universal valve connection, the cylinders can be fast filled.

Yes. LiteSafe® cylinders are 100% safe. Safety aspect has been the most integral aspect in designing LiteSafe®. LiteSafe® cylinders will not BLEVE, eliminating the risk of explosion in case of fire. LiteSafe® cylinders are duly approved by TUV Rheinland under International standards ISO 11119-3 & European standards EN 14427 and EN 12245. LiteSafe® cylinders are approved in over 58 countries.

LiteSafe® has a constant tare weight that facilitates the operation of filling of the cylinders. Due to its improved ergonomic translucent design, the weight is reduced by almost 50% than its steel counterparts which provides sturdy stacking.

LiteSafe® cylinders offers the widest range:

  • LiteSafe® Composite Cylinders: 2kg | 5kg | 6kg | 7.5kg | 10kg | 11kg | 12.5kg | 15kg | 17kg | 20kg
  • LiteSafe® Elite Cylinders: 5kg | 6kg | 10kg
  • LiteSafe® Forklift Cylinders: 10kg | 12.5kg | 15kg | 17kg | 20kg
  • LiteSafe® Boat/Gas cutting Cylinders: 2kg

LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders withstand a burst pressure that is twice as high as their steel counterparts. The single piece internal pressure vessel is a seamless construction for maximum safety. LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders can be burned in a fire without any concern for explosion. After a few minutes in engulfing fire, the outer casing starts to melt and the LPG oozes out through the cylinder wall from different locations and reduces the internal pressure and instigates localised burning only.

LiteSafe® cylinders are made up of high-grade polymers which provides maximum chemical stability and resistance, thus cylinders are completely non-corrosive even in the saline environment.

LiteSafe® cylinders are translucent which enables the user to see the gas level through the wall of the cylinder when the cylinder is placed against light, therefore eliminating the risk of running out of gas at an inappropriate time.

Since the construction of LiteSafe® composite cylinders are non-corrosive, there is no need for sand blasting, painting, denting and maintenance cost. Just clean the cylinder with soap and jet water pressure!

Yes. LiteSafe® is made by adding UV protective additives to the casing material to withstand adverse weather conditions and prevent degradation.

Yes. LiteSafe® is made from high-grade polymers and composite based material which helps to reduce carbon footprints and reward carbon credits. They are fully environment friendly and recyclable.

LiteSafe® cylinders can be used in cold climates since they are tested to -40°C. However, the use of LPG in low temperatures is limited by the vaporization capability of the specific LPG mix.

LiteSafe® cylinders are designed to withstand temperatures up to 65°C.

LiteSafe® cylinders are unaffected by salt and humidity. The materials do not corrode, so the cylinders are well adapted for use in hot, humid, and saline environments.

LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders come with an optional new age RFID technology for tracking of cylinders.

LiteSafe® composite cylinders are offered with durable and attractive heavy-duty casing. The color combination of the casing can be customized to suit client needs. The casing also provides immense branding opportunity like embossing (permanent marking on top casing) on composite cylinders and screen printing on Elite cylinders and Boat cylinders which otherwise is difficult in a metal cylinder.

An aesthetically attractive casing and shape will help your brand stand out for an immediate visual connection.

No. It would be the same method used to fill your traditional steel LPG cylinder.

LiteSafe® composite cylinders, Elite cylinders and Boat cylinders have got universal valve connection. Therefore, the same valve used in steel cylinders can be used in composite LPG cylinders.

LiteSafe® cylinders should be taken for testing after a minimum of 05 years depending on the geographic location and local regulatory authority.

LiteSafe® composite LPG cylinders have a duration of 1 year warranty against any manufacturing defects from the date of supply.
